🌈 A Little Wootzoo Update for Our Families 🌈

Hi everyone 👋

We just wanted to give you a little update about Wootzoo and how we will be using the app to share information about your child’s day with you.

As Wootzoo is completely new to us, we are still getting used to incorporating it into our daily routine. At the moment, we only have one tablet for all staff members to share, which means it isn’t always possible for us to record and send information in real time.

We have some exciting news though! 🎉 We have recently been successful in securing funding for additional tablets, which will mean each member of staff will have access to a device. These will hopefully be with us within the next few weeks and will make it much easier for us to update Wootzoo throughout the day.

💛 Our priority during these first few weeks

The beginning of a new term is an especially important time for our children. Some are returning after the summer break, while others are completely new to Mochdre Playgroup and are learning new routines, building relationships and gaining confidence.

For this reason, our priority will always be the children. We don’t want staff spending lots of time on a tablet when they could be playing, interacting, comforting, supporting and helping children to feel happy and secure.

For the time being:

• 🧷 Nappy changes and care information will continue to be recorded within the setting, but may be added to Wootzoo at the end of the day rather than appearing immediately.
• 🍎 Food and other daily information may also be updated later rather than in real time.
• 🌟 Observations will be written and uploaded during allocated staff time, so you may sometimes receive an observation a few days after it took place. The observation will still show the date the experience actually happened.

As the children settle, our staff become more familiar with Wootzoo, and our new tablets arrive, we will gradually be able to record and share more information in the moment.
