Cylch Meithrin Rhiwbeina was founded in 1959 by a group of Welsh-speaking parents who wanted to give their children the opportunity to start their education through the medium of Welsh. Over 65 years on, these original aims remain unchanged: to provide a supportive, stimulating and positive introduction to learning in a Welsh-medium environment for children aged 2 to 4.
We are open during term time for 5 morning sessions during the week.
We are a registered charity (Charities Commission number: 1209263), managed by a voluntary committee which includes a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as a trustee who is the Responsible Person for the Circle, and we encourage support from parents to join our committee, help with fundraising activities and bring new experiences to the children.
The Ti a Fi session takes place on Monday afternoons from 12:30pm until 1:45pm. This is a group where parents or carers can attend with younger children and babies. The session is run by volunteers and provides an opportunity for parents to meet others, practice Welsh, and support their child to become familiar with the setting before starting at Cylch.
