Sally Bumford

I have a Level 5 qualification in Management and leadership, and a Level 5 qualification in Children’s Care Learning and Development. l have been in the Childcare sector for fourteen years. My eldest son Jack had a convulsion and stopped breathing at 18 months of age and at three years of age was diagnosed with Severe Autism. This had a big effect and impact on our family and life. My career path changed and with my life learning skills, learnt through all this, I wanted to help and support children like my Jack and their parents. Jack has made me who l am today, a passionate, caring person dedicated to giving all children the best start in their life and instead of viewing children as having needs which must be fulfilled, l view children as strong intelligent individuals who should be given every opportunity to reach their potential. Jack has made me see the world from a different perspective. With my years of expertise, qualifications in Childcare, Management and Leadership and my life journey of raising two boys alone, I have become committed and dedicated to transform the lives of children and their families. Family is important and my youngest son “Tom” has also taken a career in Child-Care and works along- side me and my qualified staff. My favourite Children’s book is Owl babies and If I could have a super power I would like to be able to travel in the speed of light to spend my weekends in Spain.
