VOTED THE NDNA WELSH NURSERY OF THE YEAR 2012
The Welsh nursery is home for up to 28 children aged 2-5 years, housed on the ground floor in the Cowbridge Road nursery. The Welsh nursery`s principles are very much the same as their English friends with the emphasis very firmly placed upon fun, and stimulating activities that engage every child. With the whole of the building dedicated to the Welsh provision, the Welsh speaking staff have many an opportunity to surround the children with good quality Welsh vocabulary so that the children can begin to form strong foundations and connections with the language. When the children first begin, their education will very much come from a bilingual approach so that they grow with the language and so will pick it up with ease. Our aim is to make language fun and so that the children want to learn!
The Ysgol Feithrin is set in an area with lots of lovely places to visit. The children are often seen out in the local community, visiting the park to feed the ducks, looking at the gallery in chapter arts, and purchasing things to use in their work. Our outdoor space offers the opportunity to plant and grow things, climb on the frames and play with the sand and water trays. The children also like to take their "work" outdoors so they are often found in the garden busily exploring the world around the them.
The children of the Welsh nursery will be assessed in both English and Welsh so that English only speaking parents can still be a part of their child`s time with us. We hope we can help you and your child grow with the Welsh language.
Our Cowbridge Rd nursery is open from 7.30am until 6pm
Croeso i Ysgol Feithrin Sant Aubin! Mae’r ysgol feithrin Gymraeg yn gartref i hyd at 27 o blant rhwng dwy a phum mlwydd oed, ar lawr gwaelod y feithrinfa ar Heol Y Bont-faen. Mae egwyddorion y feithrinfa Gymraeg a’r feithrinfa Saesneg yn union yr un peth - mae’r pwyslais yn bendant iawn ar hwyl, gyda gweithgareddau sy’n symbylu datblygiad trwy chwarae. Mae’r adeilad cyfan wedi ei neilltuo ar gyfer y plant Cymraeg, fel eu bod nhw’n cael eu trwytho yn y Gymraeg drwy’r dydd. Trwy hynny mae’r plant sy’n gyfarwydd â’r Gymraeg yn parhau i ddatblygu eu galluoedd ieithyddol, a’r rhai sy’n dod ar draws y Gymraeg am y tro cyntaf yn cael y cyflwyniad gorau posib. Mi fydd y rhain yn manteisio ar y ddarpariaeth ddwyieithog i ddechrau, ac yn elwa o wybodaeth eu cyfeillion newydd sy’n siarad Cymraeg gartref. Eto, rydym yn pwysleisio’r hwyl sy’n ysgogi plant i ddatblygu!
Mae’r ysgol feithrin mewn ardal hardd, gyda hen ddigon o lefydd hyfryd i fwynhau awyr iach. Mae’r trigolion lleol yn gyfarwydd iawn â gweld ein plant yn y gymuned, wrth iddyn nhw fwydo’r hwyaid, ymweld ag oriel Chapter a siopa am eu deunydd gwaith. Cyfle i blannu a thyfu, i chwarae ar ein hoffer awyr agored ac i chwarae gyda thywod a dŵr sydd yn ein hiard. Mae’r plant hefyd yn hoff o gymryd eu “gwaith” allan, os yw tywydd Cymru’n caniatáu...
Rydym yn asesu’r plant yn Gymraeg ac yn Saesneg, er mwyn sicrhau bod rhieni Saesneg yn rhan annatod o amser eu plentyn yn ein cwmni.
Rydym yn ffyddiog iawn y byddwn yn medru eich cynorthwyo i fagu’r genhedlaeth nesaf o Gymry.
