What’s the one song your little ones just can’t stop singing? Is it the classic “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”? The ever-popular “Wind the Bobbin Up”? Or maybe “Baa Baa Black Sheep” still reigns supreme in your circle time?

Or perhaps it’s one of Wales’ own beloved rhymes - Mi Welais Jac y Do, Ar Lan y Môr, or the ever-cheerful Tedi Twt!

Now’s your chance to have your say; because Wootzoo is officially on a mission to discover Wales’ Favourite Nursery Rhyme!

Why We’re Doing This

At Wootzoo - Wales’ first childcare platform with built-in CIW compliance, we know how much music and rhyme matter in early years learning. Nursery rhymes help little ones develop language, rhythm, memory, and social skills (not to mention giving everyone a good giggle in the process!).

And here in Wales - the Land of Song it’s not just the grown-ups who love to sing! From Mi Welais Jac y Do to Tedi Twt, and from Ar Lan y Môr to Jac y Do (yes, he’s back again!), Welsh nursery rhymes have been passed down for generations, filling classrooms, playgroups and living rooms with melody and joy.

So, we thought: what better way to celebrate the joy of early learning than by finding out which tunes , English and Welsh are truly top of the tots across the nation?

How It Works

We are in the process of surveying all of our childcare settings across Wales to uncover which rhymes are topping the charts..  And we want your nursery to join in too!

It’s super simple:

1. Nominate your favourite nursery rhyme – whether it’s The Wheels on the Bus or Tedi Twt, tell us which one gets the biggest smiles in your setting.
   
   
2. Encourage parents to vote! They’ll soon be able to have their say directly through the Wootzoo app.
   
   
3. Sing it loud and proud – share your nomination on social media and tag us using #WalesFavouriteRhyme and @Wootzoo.
   
   

We’ll be sharing fun updates and early results along the way, before announcing the official winner in January.

Yma yn Wootzoo — sef platfform meithrin cyntaf Cymru gyda chydymffurfiaeth AGC (CIW) wedi’i gynnwys — rydym ni’n gwybod pa mor bwysig yw cerddoriaeth a rhigymau plant bach yn y blynyddoedd cynnar. Mae caneuon yn helpu plant i ddatblygu iaith, rhythm, cof a sgiliau cymdeithasol (ac wrth gwrs, yn dod â llawer o chwerthin i’r dosbarth!).

Yn wir, yng Nghymru — y Wlad y Gân — mae caru canu’n dechrau’n ifanc iawn! O Mi Welais Jac y Do i Tedi Twt, ac o Ar Lan y Môr i Tedi Twt, mae’r caneuon traddodiadol hyn wedi cael eu canu gan genedlaethau o blant ledled y wlad.

Felly, beth am ddathlu’r llawenydd dysgu cynnar trwy ddarganfod pa ganeuon — Cymraeg neu Saesneg — sy’n ennill calonau’r plant yng Nghymru heddiw?

Sut Mae’n Gweithio

Rydym eisoes wedi cynnal arolwg gyda dros leoliadau gofal plant ledled Cymru i weld pa ganeuon sy’n boblogaidd — ond rydym am i’ch meithrin chi fod yn rhan ohono hefyd!

Dyma sut i gymryd rhan:

1. Enwebwch eich hoff Hwiangerddi – boed hi’n The Wheels on the Bus neu Tedi Twt, rhowch wybod i ni pa un sy’n dod â’r gwên fwyaf i’r wynebau bach.
   
   
2. Anogwch rieni i bleidleisio! Bydd modd iddyn nhw gymryd rhan yn uniongyrchol drwy ap Wootzoo cyn bo hir.
