Having worked all my adult life in various early years roles, including in a preschool, as a teacher, and as EYFS lead, and with my staff being of similar background, we are all well versed educators. But being a childcare provider is so much more than what we do in person with the children.
It's recording how we have extended learning, built the curriculum and followed children's interests, finding pattern, strengths and next steps in each individual's development. It's daily diary records of care given, sleep schedules, food eaten, menus and toileting. It's policy writing, risk assessing, fire drill recording, staff minute recording, invoicing, medical form filling, and contract writing, and most of it needs to be shared with parents.

Onboarding new children and families' paperwork is significantly reduced by the tailor-made forms and contracts. Parents are happier and quicker filling in forms on their phone rather than paper copies.
