If your child won't be attending today - whether sick, on holiday, or absent for another reason - you can notify their setting directly through Wootzoo in seconds.

Reporting an Absence

  1. From your dashboard, tap Report Absence (or go to Children → [Child Name] → Report Absence).
  2. Select the reason: Sick, Holiday, or Absent.
  3. Set the absence dates - for a single day or a range.
  4. Add an optional note (e.g. "has a stomach bug, back Thursday").
  5. Tap Submit. Your nursery is notified immediately.

What Happens Next

Your nursery sees the absence notification on their dashboard and on the SerenPass register. The child's row will show an absence badge so staff know not to expect them that day.

Updating or Cancelling an Absence

If your child recovers sooner than expected or the absence dates change, contact your nursery directly to update the record - or submit a new absence report with the revised dates.

Try to report absences as early as possible - ideally before the session starts - so staff can update ratios and the register accurately.
