CIW Tools
CIW Tools brings together everything you need for CIW compliance in one place: safeguarding, staff supervisions, checklists, and the committee document library. Available on Pro accounts only.
Safeguarding
The Safeguarding page shows a traffic-light status (green/amber/red) for every active child, plus your Designated Safeguarding Person (name, phone, email, certificate expiry date). Click into a child to see their traffic-light history and log a new concern (date, description, action taken, outcome).
Staff can view the page; only managers can update a status or log a concern.
Staff Supervisions & Appraisals
Found on the Supervisions tab of each staff member's profile. A manager records a supervision or appraisal (date, conducted by, notes, actions, next-due date, defaults to 6 months). Recording it auto-signs the manager; the staff member must then separately sign to confirm. A record can only be deleted while unsigned by both sides.
Custom Checklists
Build your own checklist (name plus a list of items) or use one of the three built-in ones: fire drill, cleaning schedule, sign-in compliance. Every use creates a daily session, with each item signed off individually (pass/fail, with a mandatory note if it fails). History lists past sessions, and completed built-in checklist sessions can be downloaded as a PDF.
Committee & Document Library
Keep a list of committee members (role, contact, term dates) and a private document library (title, category, e.g. constitution/minutes/financial/governance/other, date, file up to 20MB), grouped by category.
Policy Documents is a separate feature under the same hub, for publishing CIW policy PDFs with staff acknowledgement tracking.
Marking Checklist Items Not Applicable
On any CIW compliance checklist you can mark an item Not applicable if it doesn't apply to your setting. Those items are left out of the completion figure, so you aren't marked down for something that doesn't affect you. The setting remembers which items you marked last time.
